Bi-annual Mega Medical Camps

Ashwaas believes that access to medical care is not a privilege, but a basic right that must reach even the most remote and underserved communities. This conviction led to a bold initiative in November 2021 — the launch of a medical screening camp for the rural Adivasi population living deep within the Bhandardara valley. Tucked away in the remote forests, these communities often go unnoticed and untreated, but Ashwaas made it a priority to bring healthcare directly to their doorstep.

In collaboration with the Forest Department of the Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary, Ashwaas initiated the screening of local Adivasis. What began as a basic health check-up camp quickly evolved into a comprehensive healthcare mission. The team understood that one-time efforts were not enough, so they steadily expanded their services to include precision diagnostics, preventive and therapeutic care, as well as proper medical documentation and follow-up for patients.

This sustained outreach required dedication and expertise — and Ashwaas found overwhelming support from the medical fraternity. Many doctors from Nashik volunteered their time, generously offering their Sundays to travel into the interiors and serve the rural population. Their commitment, combined with Ashwaas’s organizational drive, ensured that quality healthcare reached people who had long lived without access to it.

Today, this initiative stands as a model of what consistent, community-focused medical outreach can achieve. Ashwaas has not only addressed immediate health concerns but also built lasting trust among the tribal communities. Their work in Bhandardara is a testament to how compassion, collaboration, and commitment can break barriers and truly transform lives in forgotten corners of society.
